A.W.D.I. started in 1951 as a central distribution facility.

After a few years, the warehouse became a member owned operation. The belief was "all jobbers are created equal" regardless of size or volume and they developed a program accordingly. All members enjoy the same buying power equally. As time went on, A.W.D.I. grew exponentially and our product lines went from one line to over 100 with many of those lines available on a drop ship basis. 

After over 60 years in the automotive business, our commitment remains the same. Large or small, our members receive equal status in a business that provides quality service stocking Brand name products as well as competitively priced lines.

Also known as A.W.D.I. we are a member owned, a full line distributor serving the midwest’s independent auto parts stores. Commonly known as a buying group, A.W.D.I. offers it’s members “direct” from manufacturer purchasing or daily product availability shipping from our Council Bluffs warehouse. Our members cover a wide variety of markets which include Professional Installers, Agriculture, PBE, Industrial and detailers, as well as a few Do-It-Yourself Backyard Mechanic. We have members in Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, North and South Dakota and Montana.

A.W.D.I. is a member of the National Pronto Association which provides a means of being recognized on a national level while maintaining independent status through various marketing programs.
